Ponchatoula, Louisiana, known as the “Strawberry Capital of the World,” is a charming little town that also happens to be known as “Antique City.”
Getting There
Ponchatoula is about a 45-minute drive from Baton Rouge or New Orleans. It is located just a few minutes south of Hammond when you are driving on Interstate 55.

- Downtown – This is a small town and a great place to stroll down Main Street and discover unique shops, antique stores, and art galleries.
Things to Do
The Collinswood School Museum – Learn more about the history of this town as you view early household and Native American artifacts, antique quilts, and furnishings, and enjoy the outdoor garden.

- Ponchatoula Antique Trade Days – Arts & Crafts Fair – Held twice each year, this event features antiques, arts and crafts, and live music.
- Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival – If you’re in town during the annual Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival, held every April, be sure to join in the fun. Residents and visitors can enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and many strawberry-themed foods.
